    What the heck is this thing?

    That looks like a shaker grate, and there appears to be a shaker handle layin' in that thing, it might be a coal, or a wood/coal stove.

    Cedar Transformer Poles: Thoughts...

    I split, stack, and burn eastern red cedar. It burns fast and hot. I'd get 'em if you are guaranteed they are virgin cedar, untreated in any way.
