As a former leyden owner, also wanted to warn you away from the leyden. Very difficult stove.
Switched it for a Jotul and have never been happier.
Just wanted to send out a BIG THANK YOU to all at Hearth.com for patiently walking me through trying to get my original Lopi Leyden to work, and then...
I just had the new stove hooked up to my liner, and this is what he left me with.
I've decided to insulate the liner this summer, and will be...

Nashua 324A Aluminum Tape
Is this the correct tape to seal the liner to the stove pipe?
Made an appointment with a sweep for this weekend.
He told us "I don't sweep from the top, it's too dangerous. I only sweep from the bottom"
I called the dealer, asked for a different installer. He said all his installers use fiberglass, no problem.
I called a different...
Just had the installer here to measure.
He states his intention is to install fiberglass insulation in the masonry chimney. He told me rock wool is...
My lid was cast with a slight warp, and leaked air.
Another user on this site also had a warped lid, ordered a new lid, and it was also warped....

Is it the wood stove?
Or is it the cold?
Cold in the AM. cold in-between loads.
My family doesn't care where the heat comes from, just as long...
I'm going to try again with the new dealer who is taking over the store.
My dealer sold me a floor model Leyden with a warped lid, despite paying for a new one, and then he promptly went out of business. I want a new lid...
I've been agonizing over the same question, castine v oslo. I think I'm going castine as an area heater for first floor for similar reasons....
That's the situation I find myself in now. I've split all the easy stuff. Now I'm after all the garbage.
About an hour with the sledge and wedge...
I would absolutely pay 130 per cord to keep or stay ahead. I find it costs WAY more than that around here. This nursery wouldn't happen to be in...
You don't have to buy log length or pre-split.
You can often buy a truck load of rounds already cut to 18" or so. All you have to do is split them.
I hand spilt 30 to 60 minutes a day. Its exercise. And it's productive. But I don't mind taking my time with it.
So I passed. I knew it was smaller than I wanted, but thought it was a good deal for a F3CB.
Since its not a F3CB, now it seems over priced. I...
Want to be prepared before I meet...

No ash pan?
Not as efficient?
More concerning to me, is it NOT EMBER...
Agreed not very powerful. Meant for those small European homes.
Not my style, but I can appreciate a well designed stove.
This sounds like it fits:
Looking at a Jotul 3TD tomorrow.
How is this different from a F3 CB?
Anything I need to know?
I'm no expert, but my dealer recommended I unbolt the burn tubes in my future jotul and sweep down into the stove.
