I get smoke that comes from around my door if the fire goes out.
Seems it was pretty much just pellets.
Had the auger jam up on my Whitfield. Got home from work and it was freezing in the house.
I saw that the auger wasn't turning so I pulled the back...

Yeah. At first I was going to piece something together, but this kit was 30.00 so I figured what the hell.
What really sold me on putting in an OAK...
Got the kit in the mail today. Drilled the hole in the wall and hooked it up, very simple.
The air being pulled in is very subtle.

I have an old Whitfield as well.
My auger stays ON about 1-1.5 seconds on all settings.
It stays OFF about 4-5 seconds on the 3 setting, 3-4 sec on...
I wouldn't think so. Just be using electricity for nothing.

I always thought that the fresh air kits that I've seen looked smaller than regular 3" flex hose.
I think it's more like an 1 5/8" coming out the back.
Do they make a part that goes 1 5/8" to 3"?
The intake on the back of my stove is about 1 3/4" O.D.
Seems like an odd size. Shouldn't it be 3". Isn't 3" the size that the kits use?

No they don't. But, I think at the time of this publication (90's) 4" was the vent that was used. Also, every setup the manual has is venting running...
Anybody have an answer?
I have an older stove (Whitfield renaissance) and the manual says to use a 3" to 4" increaser fronm stove, 2' max horizontal length going out thru...
