4 poi versus 2 pin moisture meters

Which one? I see both available for around the same cost....is one more effective?

For dimensioned lumber, the 4 pin is better but for firewood, 2 pins.

Go with the 2 pin model.

You probably already read this, but when you take your readings, split the wood and take a reading from the middle.

Two pin is much easier to use, getting all 4 pins to contact an iregular shaped split is somewhat dificult.

I have a 4 pin and have never had trouble with getting a reading. I'm sure a 2 pin would be easier though.
