I can pick up a used 5700 step top for a good price. I was wondering how long the baffle board last before needing replacement? I think it is 1/2" ceramic board of some kind. My old stove has a steel plate baffle, so not familiar with the new material.

The 1/2" ceramic fiber board in my Englander 30-NC is headed for its fifth season.

You can buy replacements of generic materials fairly inexpensively - at places like McMaster-Carr.

If they would just stock 1/2"! >:-(
