I own a Dutch West Federal Airtight Wood Stove.
It's on craigs list.
It is the big one.
The really big one.

It has a 8" flu.
A fellow in the next town want it.
He has a 6" opening to his chimney.

He wants to find a converter convert
from his chimney which is 6" to the stove which is 8".

I certain that this would be a bad thing.
Am I right ?
Thank you kindly.

it works ok the other way around, but not that way

If his actual chimney is larger than 6in, but the opening going into the chimney is 6in.
Then he could make the opening 8in and use the chimney.
