mmm...looks nice....gonna do some ribs tomorrow on my MAK 2star....got a new rub I want to try.....will post a pic wwhen iI do it.....those butts look darn good, but Ive got some corned beef going in the crock pot waiting for me after work is done today! Cabbage too! lovely!

I am using bbqr delight apple for this cook. I have turmans and barefoots in the garage and both are supposedly ok to cook with although i must admit ive never tried it. Those MAK units are sweet! I wish i could get the admiral to authorize a bigger better cooker

Andy- yea, Ive tried several types of smoker pellets, but I am not all that far from you, and found it was EXPENSIVE to get them up here (us Yankees dont seem to be too much into smoking as the Rebs)......so, Turmans being a pure red oak, and the fact that i have a ton in my basement, prompted me to experiment with them.....I found I really couldnt tell the difference in using several different pellets and using Turmans.....except my wallet told me there was a BIG difference. The MAK has been good to me, all digital and very little learning curve....might start selling them this year....great folks to work with too......

Buddy of mine has the "Big Green Egg" that thing is badass! Cost an arm and a leg though. But it cooks/smokes very well.
