If the bark was more diamond shaped I'd say ash. But it isn't so I say tupelo. A bit big for one of those though.

I read it and I still don't agree that it's white oak. I'm sorry to say. Might be oak and it may go in the white oak pile at the lumber yard but that's irrelevent to this. Not being disrespectful but respectfully disagree.

Oh - I take stabs at it too, but it ain't my lively hood. I go by the mantra of "don't try to beat a guy at his own game".:cool:
