A Sandy legacy...

We had no power for 11 days after Sandy passed through. It was not too cold outside but with nothing running in the house the temps slowly dropped. With the Nor'easter coming I lit small fires in both stoves to keep the house comfortable. Now Sandy is gone, the snow melted, and the outside temperatures are in the low 60s. My wife is COLD! The house with the stoves running has that pleasant dry warmth. She wants that back. We usually don't light the stove 'til Thanksgiving but this year it is already running every day.

One of Sandy's legacies it an early heating season... Good thing she left some extra wood around.

Glad ya got the power back. Been 15 degrees below normal here so I started early too.

11 days is rough. I feel badly for those to the west hit so much harder than we were out here.

LIPA is catching alot of flack, most of it probably deserved.
