Gotta be honest, these are a really good pellet. they did have some issues in the past and were up front about it w/us. they have corrected the problems sinces then and it is one of the best pellets i've burned. just make sure you don't get the bags that say 8200 BTUs/lbs. those were the bad ones. ash content is a tad bit higher than a really good hard wood pellet but not by much. for the price you can't beat them. def worth getting a few bags to try and i think you will really like them. hope that helps

I tried the latest batch this spring and I would say they are less than average! Very low heat output. They were the coldest pellet I burned all year! I wouldn't waste my cash on them!

You should be able to find a better pellet for about the same amount of cash somewhere.

It is nice to hear that they are trying to make improvements. Last year I burned some and they were definately not my favorite of the various brands I burned. After reading the post by Josh3359
...don’t get the bags that say 8200 BTUs/lbs.
I just got up and checked one of my empty bags and sure enough that is what my bag says on it. I might try them again in the future after I have given some time for the old stock to roll over.

LOOK I HAVE A HARMAN P-68 AND i JUST BOUGHT 4 TONS OF ACP PELLETS. I STARTED BURNING THEM A FEW DAYS AGO AND THEY BURN GREAT AND THE I CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE AMOUNT OF ASH FROM ANY OTHER PELLET. I BOUGHT THE PELLETS FOR $220/TON AND THEY WERE A LOT CHEAPER THEN ANY OTHER PELLET. tHE MORAL OF THE STORY IS TO GET A GOOD PELLET STOVE THAT WILL BURN ANYTHING AND REAP THE REWARDS WITH THE YEARLY PELLET BUY. i THINK TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO MAKE A SCIENCE OF ALL OF THE PELLET STOVE VARIABLES. YOU HAVE A STOVE, BUY THE PELLETS, FEED THE STOVE, GET HEAT AND ASH AND SMOKE AND LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER. I HAVE READ SO MANY NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT ACP PELLETS BUT I SAID THAT THEY ARE CHEAPER AND STILL A WOOD PELLET SO I THINK IT IS WORTH IT TO GIVE THEM A SHOT. SO I DID AND THEY ARE A PELLET JUST LIKE ALL OF THE REST. I ALSO BOUGHT PENNINGTON PELLETS LAST YEAR AND EVERYONE SAID THEY WERE SOOO BAD BUT I THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE PRETTY GOOD. I BELIEVE MANY PEOPLE JUST WANT SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT.

I bought 2 tons of Pennington pellets and 2 tons of tidy timbers. I began burning the Pennington’s first because of my concern with them since soo many people have had problems. Since burning the pellets there have been a lot of fines and longs. Some pellets are as long as 4”. So if you have a picky stove that needs smaller pellets I would advise against getting Pennington. Also just recently when I poured a bag of PENNINGTON’s into the hopper I noticed that there was a piece of wood inside that bag. It was not a long pellet but a 5” piece of wood. I feel that I cannot trust Pennington anymore. Their pellets are so inconsistant. I then called peggy at customer service who did nothing about the problem but advise me to call home depot where I purchased them and have them exchange them out. First thats not home depots problem its Pennington’s. I can see doing that if the bags were ripped but this is a 5” piece of WOOD inside of the bag. Secondly, home depot towmotor does not fit inside of my garage so I have to take out the ton of pellets by hand and load the exchanged pellets back into the garage by hand. Lastly I am not ven sure that they would exchange them or have any pellets left. Thats some good advice PENNINGTON!!! Dish your responsibility to someone else to deal with including your customers. It is not worth the hassel with this company. I will NEVER buy PENNINGTON PELLETS AGAIn!!!!!
Pennington customer service doesnt care about their customers or their chitty products. Mybe they will start to care when no one buys their crappy pellets. I believe that they dont care this year because of the pellet crunch and the fact that there was a shortage which makes it unfortunate that people have to buy whats out there. But it shows you what type of company Pennington really is. They add insult to injury when they know that their customers have little choice to find other available pellets especially near winter. All I know is that I will never buy from pennington again, period. I wont support those who dont care about their customers and stand by their products which is the least that they can do. It is just amazing how many issues people are having with this company and it is not just isolated incidents it is wide spread and it is long term, not just this year. DONT you remember last years fiasco!!! !

Please302,

I don't understand your posts. Can we help you?

Here are my questions:

1. Why do you now post long run-on paragraphs in all capital letters? It's easier on everyone when people post in normal English.
2. Why do you copy your own remarks and post them one after the other in a whole bunch of related threads? I saws four and then stopped counting.
3. Why do your comments swing from one extreme to another? Today you say you bought Pennington pellets and they are "pretty good". But I looked at your previous posts (notably #346284) which I copied in its entirety above. There you say some critical things about Pennington. I'm not saying you are right or wrong about any of these pellets. But the mood swing is unusual, you have to admit.

I'm trying to see the most reasonable interpretation of your pellet comments.

I think you are perhaps saying differences among pellet brands are not important. If that's what you mean, you are obviously entitled to your opinion. My view is that there are some differences which may or may not be important, depending on what the stove owner is willing to pay, what equipment he has and what level of cleaning and other maintenance he will accept. But I'm not inclined to be as emphatic and almost extreme as your multiple posts seem to be.

Please don't be upset by my questions. I think they are fair.

Has anyone burned these . I can get them for $259.00 ton with free delivery in southern NH.

I burned 10 bags last season. By far the worst pellet ever. THis year people have experience with them and they are better but just slightly. There are a couple of sales reps on here trying to tell everyone how great they are.

One person said he is a dealer, and has "independent" evidence that they are good pellets yet can't seem to provide it. The other person pretends he is just a consumer and has 4 tons, yet he seems to write in all caps and get angry when people, rightly so, are skeptical.

Based on this, I would stay away from them for now. At 200.00 a ton, you might consider them. However, I wouldn't.

THere is no pellet shortage this year. There is no need to burn a sub standard pellet.

Last year, there was some incentive to try these, this year there are too many options.
