I want to use concrete screws to attach an aluminum frame around my fireplace but the y don't make a screw less than 1 1/4" long and I can only drill about a half inch deep.

so --

may try to use an adhesive -- doesn't have to be heat resistant.

is there anything that works well that will adhere to the firebrick (or whatever it is on the interior of the fireplace)? granted, it will need to be cleaned well.

some sort of special silicone maybe?
