Hello all. I have a quadrafire 3100 step top. I am hearing air noises on the right side of the stove can't really tell if its coming from the back of the stove or right side of stove . Maybe I'm just noticing this now since we have no power. Just wanted to check if this is normal or not

If your Quad is constructed similar to the way that Regency builds their steel body stoves, there's what's called an EPA hole drilled in em to keep you from shutting the combustion air completely down...On the Regency models, it's on the lower right side of the unit. Sometimes a simple deburring of the inner surface of the stove, where the drill broke thru, is enough to mitigate this harmonic. A small rattail file might work. Others have closed the hole partially using a small magnet, or even a piece of tape...

Not sure exactly what you are hearing, but we hear air being sucked in when the fire take off and the air control is about 25% open. It's not loud, but can be heard in a quiet room. No big deal for us.
