This weekend was some seriously bizzare weather here in NY. Saturday...61 degrees. Then someone turned on the air conditioning!! Temp dropped to about 10 by 1 am on Sunday morning. Lots of rain, then sleet, then snow. Lost power around 1am. Power didn't get restored until almost 8:00pm, and temps held around 20 all day Sunday.

The Osburn kept the house nice and comfortable. No room dropped below 62. While 62 may seem a bit cold, consider that the stove room has a cathedral ceiling, and with no power, there were no fans or blowers running.

Usually we have a ceiling fan going, and the insert blower moves the heat out of the stove MUCH better than the stove alone.

Once the power came on, I cranked the stove way up with some pine, and the house temp moved up. It kept the lower floor warm all last night... 70 degrees in the center of the house this morning. Outside temp was -4.

I did have to feed it at about 3am though.

Kudos to you Warren!

Were you the envy of the neighborhood?

Now if that wood stove had a generator attached you could have had a bash party watching 24
