I had an energy audit free from my electric company so that I could apply for rebates on insulation, etc.

Well, I talked to the person in charge, and he let me apply the cost of the wood stove, maximizing the rebate. I sent him the approved building permit and new EPA/energy form for my Jotul - this month's bill showed the $300 credit.

My electric company is fantastic (and small), but you may have the same success that I did...

That sounds great. Good for you for both the energy audit and applying for the rebate. A Merry Christmas early this year!
