Another Wood ID Thread (Now with More Pics!)

Thanks for indulging me!

I don't know what this is, exactly. It appears to be some sort of olive relative and is fairly popular as an ornamental tree in my neck of the woods. There's plenty available and I'm picking it up.

The wood is a gorgeous deep yellow/orange color. Any idea what it is exactly?

Looks like Cherry to me, Leaves, bark and dark orange meat.

Could be plum. It is some sort of fruit wood and is good in a stove or grill.

Looks like an ornamental cherry of some kind. Did you cut it with a chisel?

I haven't cut into it yet. Just grabbed it and stacked it--it's a really pretty wood. The fruit are small and dark, the leaves long and tapered--about 4" or so.

Looks like cherry, sounds like cherry how does it smell?

The bark doesn't look like any cherry I'm familiar with. I do agree it looks like a fruit wood. I'd split it , stack it, and burn it when it's dry.

Yep, any fruitwood burns nicely when seasoned.
