We went to a local farm today and they had their annual tractor field plow day. The weather was beautiful, the scenery great and greenhouses full of plants. They let you walk on the dirt road next to the field to take pictures. Gotta love New Hampshire.

Can anyone tell me why some tractors have the front wheels close together on an angle and others have them further apart? Is it for stability?

Wheels close together are called row crop tractors so one can turn short and not run over crops when doing field work.Wide front end tractors are more stable but cannot turn as well as tricicle type. WFE
tractors have more flotation as they are not putting all of the weight in one area and can usually operate in muddy fields better. Hope this helps you out.

First pic is an Allis CA. I have 6 of them. Here is a pic of my tractor plowing my ground last fall and a pic of it on the trailer. It is exactly original as it was sold. Tires are original 100% no cracks.
