I bought a used Chiminea at the thrift store lately. Have no idea what I'm going to do with it (laugh!). I know it requires sand in the bottom but I wondering if there should there have been firebrick or a grill in the bottom which was not included in the purchase.

Does anyone have have care/use instructions they'd like to share?

Also, anyone ever cook on one of these?

PS Can you tell I'm putting off building either an outside bread stove or a pizza oven?

Mine is put an inch or two of sand then firebrick on top. It suggested a cover over the stack for summer and completely covered in winter.
