I had air in one of the zones and the boiler was running when I purged the zone with the air ( short modine loop ) the other zones were bypassed but I didn't isolate the Tarm so I may have introduced air to that loop. Now the only way to purge the tarm is with the system up to temp. so the question is will the cold well water do any damage or is it a non-issue ?

You don't need the system up to temp to purge the Tarm. Assume Tarm cold, system warm, start pressure 15 psi. Purge air from the vent in the top of the Tarm. If air is in the Tarm, vacate air until water starts flowing, and pressure will drop, depending on how much air you purge. After purging, add water to bring pressure back up to start pressure of assumed 15 psi. If no air vacates from the vent, then nothing to purge.

Adding cold water to a cold Tarm will not cause any problem. Fire the Tarm and all should be OK.
