We had some work done on the house, including stuccoing the (formerly cedar lap-sided) chase. This resulted in wrinkling up the drip edge of a galvanized chase cap, which was essentially shot anyway (27 year old house).
Looking on line, I see that s.s. chase caps are are really expensive -- like $260 - $360. Does anyone know if its better to order stainless, or could it be enough cheaper that its ok to go galvanized? I know nothing of sheet metal forming; do homeowners ever fabricate these things themselves?
(BTW, about 90 degrees east of Boulder today. My brother and I cut, blocked & split about a cord and a half of dead-standing beetle kill yesterday, but NO sign of needing to use it.)
