Auger jammed on Mt. Vernon AE insert

For the past week we've been getting an "auger jammed" error code on our Mt. Vernon AE insert. When i unplug it unit, it clears the code and it runs fine, so there is no actual jam. It's been doing this off and on for the past week.
The insert is just over a year old.

Anyone with any experience with this?
I hate to pay for a service call for something i can do myself.
