I hear this from time to time too. An occasional pop or whine just means there is a long pellet that the auger had to break to process or a bit of sawdust stuck at the edge. As long as it's not constant I don't worry.

Turns out the knocking was easily resolved with some vacuuming and WD-40. The problem now is that one of the fans along the bottom side was seized up and now runs with a rattle. At least we did get both fans running. Does this model fan ring a bell?

I can't find it online yet.

Thanks for your responses so far.

Our resident motor expert, Jay Takeman should be along shortly to help with this...he's very good at finding replacement motors.

If he doesn't stop by this thread, send him a PM his forum name is "j-takeman"

Cyclohm is out of business. These are basically cooling fans for electrical control cabinets. The above is something to look at anyway. watts are higher but. Your cheapest bet is eBay for these. Any 120v 6 inch fan with the same case will do OK.

I'm still getting a knock in my pellet stove. The motor is bouncing and it doesn't look right. It seems to coincide with the ban noise, when it drops. And I can also run a fastener straight through so it definitely looks as though there was a fastener in there at one point.

It's pretty clear what's going on in the video, so tell me if you think it looks bad.
