Hi-the stove is about 6 years old-continuous running all winter except for cleaning. It has begun shutting down after about an hour. I keep it clean inside and out, including the fans, etc. Exhaust tube is clean. Everything runs normal, including the auger, until shut down.

I'm thinking that maybe the snap disc that senses high temperatures is activating. Do these go bad after a while? I do not think the stove is running excessively hot.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Snap discs have been known to deteriorate with age. You can try jumpering around the high temp snap (always unplug the stove first) to rule out other reasons. Sometimes just removing and cleaning up built up ash/dust will do the trick. Snap discs are normally an inexpensive item so you may want to get one anyway to have on hand.

Keep us posted and sorry no one contacted you quicker.
