We replaced the exhaust blower on our Avalon Insert due to excessive noise from the original. The new blower is exceptionally quiet, however, it does not shut down when the stove turns off or when you switch it to off. Any ideas?????????

There were NO other problems with the stove besides the noisy blower, until you replaced it? Sounds strange that just swapping blowers would do this. The stove was off & unplugged when you switched the blower, right? No chance of a short from the dangling fan power leads?

we did have to change the fuse at the back of the stove. what would we have shorted out? the rest of it works well. the thermostat starts and stops the stove... just the exhaust blower runs all the time.

Did you have a surge protector connected to the power cord?

As Smoke Show mentions, something (lightning strike, blower leads touching, etc) could have been the cause of the blown fuse, but may also have damaged the control board.

the system switch could be wired wrong or stuck closed.
the blower will stay on for the first 15 minutes of power and the system (low limit or proof of fire) switch takes over if the stove has heat it closes and the stove stays running
when you shut the stove down the stove cools down the switched opens and the stove shuts down
. if the stove is cool it will shut down unless the switch is stuck open or the start up timer on the control board is constantly giving power.

here is a trouble guide for your stove

see section 3-7 for system switch.
after 15 minutes of start up and if you remove one wire from the switch and the blower shuts off then most likely that is your problem

our blower for our avalon rainier is making noise after 3rd season. i fixed it last year and now its back. i think the bearings/bushings on the main shafts are going as there is a bit of play in the fans. does anyone know if there are rebuild kits for these fans or has anyone else had this problem and remidied it w/ new bushings? if you have a parts fish diagram that would help as i cant seem to find one online. thanks gang, bradford
