My stove seems not to start all the time. I have watched it and it looks like the igniter is not getting hot enough. Can one clean the metal with a metal brush or is it time for a new one.
Thanks

Amos, what model Avalon do you have?

The only cleaning I ever did on the ignitor in my Astoria, was to vacuum out the tube that the ignitor sits inside of.

Not sure what else could be done to "clean" it, but if you decide to replace it, I still have a brand new one, and an "almost" new auger motor for it....they are for sale, if your interested.
