I liked the Barefoots I bought last year, but I LOVE Hamers. They have been the best combo of hot and clean I have burned in my stove. If you have to "settle" for Hamers, consider yourself lucky.

Thanks I usually buy Barefoots for 239 a ton I can get Hamers for 245 a ton but never burnt them and I am alittle spoiled with burning Barefoots and I want to keep the same high heat they produce.

If you go with the hamers post your experience I 've bee thinking about purchasing them to try. I am currently burning barefoots and absolutely love them compared to the 2 tons of o'malleys I bought. Great heat and little ash. The o'malleys create a solid clinker after 24 hours at the bottom of the burn pot compared to nothing but fine ash with the barefoots.

Just finished up the half ton of Hamers I bought to try. Great heat, but way too much ash for my pdvc. Barefoot had almost the same heat and barely any ash.

I'm sure if you were running say a Harman or Quad or similar higher end stove you would love the Hamers.

I can go roughly 12 hours without scraping the pot with the Hamers and over 24 hours with barefoots. So about 1 bag for Hamers and 2 for barefoots.

Your stove handles clearing the ash form the pot way better so you will probably like the Hamers.

Very interesting thread. Putting in a pellet stove in a week and half and the discussions re pellet performance are helpful.

Harman Accentra 52i insert... I see that most folks have a "signature block" with their stove and preferred pellets...

I have tried a lot of pellets I do like barefoot the best. Hopefully this spring i'll buy 3 ton of barefoot not have to worry about trying to find some more over the winter. The next best I have tried is LaCrete pellets. Really nice softwood pellet.

both of these are good pellets and they're about the same. I have tried them both and never seen any noticeable difference between them.

Well through 2 bags of Hamers in the stove today can not tell any big difference between Barefoot and Hamers, flame is large good heat just as Barefoots.Hamers are smaller pellet and way darker like Energex pellets, but I would recommend Hamers.Price here per bag 5.88 Barefoot 5.99 a bag
