Question:

Dear Sir; I am building a basement to put my manufactured home on and I would like to heat the basement with a wood burning stove. How do you suggest I construct the basement for the stove and chimney i.e. can I run the stove pipe out thorough the basement wall. I need some help here. My property is littered with firewood.

Answer:

A stainless steel, class A prefab chimney would probably be your best bet. You can either go straight up through a closet or boxed-in area upstairs, or go out through the basement wall and then upwards past the roof.

Popular brands include Metalbestos, Dura-Vent and Excel.
