What is the best vent pipe for multifuel uses, including grass pellets.

My dealer never heard of grass pellets or subsequent venting needs.

thanks

The most popular is Simpsons Duravent Pellet Vent Pro.

Then you have ICC Pellet vent also approved for corn and agricultural products.

Then there is Selkirk Direct-Temp / Multi-Fuel.

Its pretty much whats available in your area or what you can find off the net. I have PVP and it is doing OK, But it isn't as leak proof as they claim. I had to seal all the interior seems to prevent leaks. I don't have any first hand info on the ICC pellet vent or Selkirk Direct-Temp/Multi-Fuel. But have heard others say good things about them. I do like the Selkirk Direct-Temp/Multi-Fuel with its built in OAK. It also prewarms the incomming air. This will probably be the next vent I try with a new install.

I am sure others will chime in with there experiance's with ICC and Selkirk.

I can see the advantage of warming the incoming air, but I thought that surrounding exhaust with cold air could contribute to condensation and caustic chemical drop out? Maybe it is trade-off depending on your ambient temp?

Cooler air as it enters the OAK will tend to sweat some once it hits the inside warmer air. If it is gradually warmed in the pipe, it does help with the moisture that forms on the exterior of the OAK. Not sure how it would effect the exhaust ID, But Bixby has there own setup for there stoves that is similar. I have heard some say there pipes are being eaten from the inside out. But that is with burning corn

My OAK sweats pretty bad in the really cold weather. I may have to wrap it with some pipe insulation. Hi heat I would assume.
