A friend of mine shot me an email about a chainsaw last night but I think it is a chinese company. Do any of you know who makes these or if there any good ? They look like a knockoff saw to me. He picked it up at a yard sale and says it is a beast. This comes from a guy who runs mostly Stihl !

He is offering to trade it for labor but I think it would be more work than it is worth. I know that one of the mods has a Chinese saw but I can't remember who thought maybe this was it.

Only 11K max RPM? Most saws that size are 12.5 or 13.5 now.

Yes far,far away. Might last a year or so,then again it might not.Not to mention the safety issue of shoddy construction or finding spare parts.

Thanks guys I figured it would not be worth it just needed affirmation I guess. Well I won't be doing a labor trade for it then I found there site and it is most certainly a Chinese saw. What a bummer to good to be true.

I think Brother Bart ended up with a Chinese chainsaw copy cat . . . last I knew he ran it for some time with no issues and then it failed on him . . . but I think he half expected this to happen and figured it was a throw-away saw and wanted to see how well it would do.

Yep, it was BroB. Cut up some wood and then failure. No longevity at least in that instance.

And trust me - if BroB could have made it work and used it to rub the Stihl/Husky/Dolmar crowds nose in it - he would have.>>

Search the form for "chusky" and you'll get some good reading on the topic of chinese saws.

Brother Bart does have one and the one in my signature is also the exact same deal (I think his is a bigger CC). There are several different sizes and colors and names, but they all seem to carry interchangeable parts.

Oh, and it comes set running at about 11K, but a quick tune really jumps it up and makes is cut like it should. Parts are readily available, and quality definitely is less than a good saw, but for the $$ it's not complete junk.

Ac it was trade for labor offer but I was not sure it was Chinese or not but now that I know I don't want it. I was thinking of it as a backup saw possibly. The 034 will make that thing look like a turd for sure.

Well, when he has them for sale, you are talking about $190 for a brand spanking new one, so it would boil down to what you needed it to be worth for the trade.

I will ask how much he would sell it for AC and let ya know. He did not give me a price he offered to give it to me in exchange for fixing his old escort and getting it to run again.
