just looking too see if anyone has one or has used one. I have the opportunity to purchase one. these are the units some united rentals have. Thanks.
 
No experience, but splitters are probably about as close to a "commoditiy tool" as you are likely to get... There are only a few basic configurations, all made with pretty much the same basic sets of parts. If it's a rental, it is probably reasonably solid construction, if you feel comfortable with the basic design of the machine, I'd say to go for it. At worst, splitters will pretty much sell for close to what you pay for them, as long as they run, so you can always resell it if you decide you want something different
