I was thinking of getting one for occasional use on the car and around the house. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks.
 
I use them doing inspections I can slide them behind the insert surounds to see the block off plate and the flue connection.

I have many stories to tell from what I have discovered angle like dental mio irror woe rks well at seeing things also.

Another great use for a bore scope it to explore a wall cavity before doing remodeling. Its nice to know if pipes and wires are present before cutting threw them
