Hi I recently installed a vermont castings intrepid into my house and want reduce the clearence between the wall and the stove. Is it possible to build a fire proof heat shield between the wall and the stove? If so how close to the heat shield can I have the stove ?

The allowable clearance reductions are listed on page 16 of the manual under the "Protected Surfaces" column on the right of the clearances table. This requires a ventilated non-combustible shield.
