Question:

I have a VANSCO wood stove (11 yrs old) well built. Can I install gas logs in this unit? The fire box measures 17"H- 15"D- & 27"W. An ash tray compartment exist below the fire box grate.

Answer:

No- you cannot install gas logs in this unit..nor into 99% of other woodburners. Gas logs are for installation into large open fireboxes where plenty of air circulates around the logs.If you are looking for heat- gas logs would not do the job anyway- since they are for decoration only. You should take a look at the new gas stoves at our products page - link at bottom of this page.
