Been watching the burn tubes when the secondary flames are going good and noticed that they are glowing red. Not sure how hot it is inside the stove but the top is 450 and the sides are 500+. Guess this is normal for them to get red hot as they are right above a fire. With these tubes being stainless, how long will they last in this heat? Tried to take a pic but they didn't show anything. They actually are red and not reflecting from the coals cause when the secondaries go out, thhey turn dark again. Normal??

Thanks,

Rob

The front tube on the Lopi does this when burning at 650 stove top temp, seems fine. On the front tube the flame rolls up and around it so the tube seems like it gets it worse then the other two.

My Osburn does that with a stove top temp of 500, when it is around 700 the burn tubes are nearly white.

Rob, its a good thing you notice these things. In this case, you saw something normal so you can rest now. Take a deep breath.... lol
