I have my 550 for three years and would like to get a longer burn. I am thinking of using a chop saw to make a batch of splits 11" long and trying a Full N/S load as I can't get a really full load E/W. Anyone with a 550 tried this approach?

I never thought of using a chop saw. It would produce little waste compared with a chain saw and you could make accurate lengths. If it works well let us all know about it.

Use my chop saw to cut down over-length splits here. Works like a charm, depending on the size of the split.
