Of course, any decent manufacturer would expect certain "things" before just signing someone up to be a dealer. I'll lay 8-1 on this situation.
The other thing you can do before making any calls or any email inquiries (spell check before hitting "send") is go to their dealer locator and see if there is already a dealer within 30 miles of you.
