The other day I was installing a new gasket around the glass on my stove door. I was very pleased with how easy the install was going until, as I was doing a final torque to the allen nuts that hold the door frames together, the glass suddenly broke. So this brings me to my questions.

1. Do I need to ease back on retightening the door frames? I am now thinking that I do not need to make those nuts super tight, but just tight enought so the glass will not move.

2. Does this glass become brittle over time? I have used this unit for three winters (everyday, all day use).

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
