Please let me know if you can get deadly carbon monoxide gas from burning wood.
Answer:
All combustion creates gases that you do not want to breathe..this includes cars- your oil or gas heater and even your breath. Wood Smoke does not have a high level of Carbon Monoxide- and what there is is very diluted and goes up the chimney. All newer woodstoves have very reduced emmissions, including CO.
Although woodstoves present very little CO danger, EVERY home should have a CO detector installed.
