Anyone has a Makita Chainsaw DCS520? I'm looking for a review for the DCS520 chainsaw in the web and couldn't find any?

    thank you!

Same as Dolmar. I like Dolmar products. Good saws at a better price point. They don't seem to take wood porting as well but power is adequate for most people.

I've got the newer model that replaced it. Makita DCS510. For a professional-grade saw this size range, it's one of the best I've owned in 50 years. The DCS520 is the older-generation Dolmar - pretty much the same as the Dolmar PS-540 with slightly less power. The new saw with a few less CCS weighs two pounds more so maybe they beefed it up a little.

I've seen the parts breakdowns and it looks as though they both have great build quality. The new model make a little more power with less CCs.

    The Makita/Dolmar DCS520 - - bore - 1.73†(44 mm), stroke - 1.34†(34 mm). 2.4 KW power at 9000 RPM and torque is 2.9 Nm at 6000 RPM. Dry saw weights 10 lbs.

    The Makita/Dolmar DCS510 - 1.77†(45 mm), stroke - 1.24†(31.7 mm).
Power 3.3 KW at 10,000 RPM, torque - 2.9 Nm at 7000 RPM. Dry saw weighs 12 lbs.

The pro saw is the 5100 or newer model 5105. Pro models have mag cases and no load tach at 14,000rpm.
