In The Woods
With a possible 4-6 inches of snow coming I decided to stack what was in the truck, attached are some pictures.

100_2058 was at the end of yesterday, 100_2067 is the full load today and 100_2068 is the last of the cherry from the truck.

Drool.......

Are those landscape timbers for the base? You sure have a great set up.

I'm not sure how you even keep track of all those random piles of trees you've cut up. How do you decide which ones to bring down to the stacks? and which ones remain in the woods for awhile?

basswidow this year I concentrated on having the wood stacked and not leaving any in the woods,(still have about one cord in the woods) and yes those are landscape timbers.

The setup, thanks we are very lucky that we have this land.

OK - I see, you are pulling it all out of the woods. That's alot of work right there - but what a reward. Looks awesome. Love the way Cherry smells, splits and burns.

Whats the grand total of cords? And how long did it take to do? If I was looking at that, I'd be thinking about taking a year off and relaxing.

Zap- you are KILLING me. Stop. Stop cutting.Stop splitting. Stop stacking. Just stop. Dont even think about another stick of firewood until at least HALF of your bazillion cords are gone (in about 150 yrs.). Did I mention that youre killing me?

Your wood stacks are flawless.

The title of this thread would be a great name for a porn star.

But wood-fan-atic if I keep cutting I can sell some plus we will need to replace what we burn this year.

Zap you never fail to impress! I would love to see your setup someday! You are one busy guy for sure...

Dennis both you and Zap are both impressive so don't sell yourself short! I learn something new every day at this fantastic forum thanx to people like you and Zap (and a huge host of others). Wouldn't it be great if the forum people could all get together and compare notes?

Ray

Well Ray, your woodshed is prettier than ours for sure. Thanks for the compliment.

This wood-fan has 'wood-envy'. I also suffer from 'acreage-envy' , 'free time-envy' , and 'heavy machinery-envy'. ;-P

I have managed to cram 5 seasoned cords into my newly-built woodshed (thanks Hearthers), and have about 4-5 more c/s/s for future on my 60x100, back-to-back,belly-to-belly, suburban plot. It also seems that my new insert realistically burns HALF the wood that my old , malfunctioning stove did - so I could be more than 2 years ahead right now. Are you proud of me,Dennis? C'mon, DAD, I've REALLY worked hard, here!!
