Installing my Englander Madison and am wondering how total chimney height is measured? Does it start from the floor, top of stove or ceiling connection?

That's up to the company that tested the stove, but usually it is from the floor to the chimney cap if this is a straight up and out flue system. A bit more chimney is only going to help so if you can measure from the top of the stove all the better. If it is a through the wall system then deduct 3ft for each 90 deg turn in the smoke path. Higher altitude locations will need to have a taller chimney to compensate for the thinner air.

Thanks so much. This is straight out and up, with stove placement the first section of class A will be through the roof already. Might need to go higher thab the 3 foot rule within 10 feet

No problem. Just be sure to have a brace at the 5 ft level if the chimney pokes out of the roof more than 5'.
