I recently purchased a moneson wood burning fireplace with a flue size of 8" and outside of 11" but the double wall pipe i have is 8" and 12" outside. Do i need to purchase an adapter to make this a snug fit or is there to be an air space at the connection. If i install the pipe sections as the inner pipe will extend about 3"above the outer pipe. What is the correct installation?

You'll need an adapter. It sounds like you're running class A all the way to the stove ?

NO NO NO You need to buy the proper chimney for THAT fireplace, consult the owners manual-installers guide
