Hi, this is my first post here on this site. I have searched many posts on liners on this and another site.I have a brick chimney that has framing against it, It supports floors, ceilings and rafters.
Right now I have a rigid single wall SS liner on my wood furnace, and I am concerned about the framing touching the masonary. I would imagine this is not a good thing. Would I be ok if I insulated with the vermiculite, cement mix or do I need to tear out the brick chimney, frame a new chase and install an insulated SS chimney with the 2" clearance?

Thanks,
Kevin
