Hi, we just bought a used chimney and the cleanout tee does not have a cap. It is a 6" dura vent triple wall. Does anyone know what I can use for a cap or where to find a replacement? I have been looking online but have not been able to find anything. Thanks in advance.
 
If this is their class A pipe it should be DuraPlus. There are many online outlet stores and I think Home Depot sells this brand. Stick with one brand of pipe for correct fitting.
 
Sorry. Yes it is DuraPlus. I have all the pipe and the tee but I am trying to find a tee cap or plug for the cleanout. I checked Home Depot and they sell the tee but not just the cap. Any ideas of what I could use to cover it or somewhere that sells just the plug?
 
That could be a challenge. Try calling DuraVent support and see if they have a suggestion. http://www.duravent.com/OperationHours.aspx
If no help, maybe tape a paint can lid using 3-4" wide aluminum tape as a temporary solution and watch craigslist ads for DuraPlus pipe?
 
Thank you Begreen. I called Duravent and although they don't sell just the cap they offered to ship me one for free. I asked how much for shipping and they said they would pick up the freight cost; I'll have it by Thursday. Wow am I happy!
