CL Free Wood - Hard Maple?

Cut up this trunk today about 15min from home. Real nice heavy solid wood. Home owner claims its hard maple. Some of the bark looked like Ash but not all of it. What do you think? I have never cut a hard maple but we have taken many ash down. The wood is very white.

Bark texture seems different than the ash here ... I'm thinking the owner was accurate:)
 
Looks mapley to me. Its a nice load either way.

Agree with Norway maple, bark looks like Green Ash, both with twigs and leaves that grow opposite. But very fine grained white hard wood.
Its not a native species. But it is comparable to Sugar maple.
