I cleaned my BioWin 150 today. I had run ~1.8 tons through it, at 605 hours run time on it. I forget how many more hours the control panel said were left to go before cleaning, but it was a bunch. This was apparently in error, because the ash case was packed solid! The pellets were Dry Creek; pellet ash removal profile set at Stage 1, Fuel Quantity Auger Conveyor 11.7 actual, 14.3 range, and 0 correction; Ash cleaning interval correction = 0. After confirming that cleaning had been done, the control panel now says 1426 hrs. before the next cleaning, which is, like, no way. Even if I corrected the ash cleaning interval to -50%, it still wouldn't be enough. I'd be interested in getting a getting it more in line, and understanding what's going on.

Cleaning went pretty easy, though I went slowly for this first time. There wasn't that much crustiness to clean. The tip in the manual about soaking the grate plate in water before scraping with the putty knife really helped. I didn't soak anything else. The holes weren't clogged, but I did run a 3/16" dowel through the air pin's holes anyway. Note: The cone's holes are 1/4".

Something I could see forgetting is the hidden ash auger (for the flyash?), which is behind an access panel.

I didn't clean the ID fan-the manual calls for doing that once a year.

Here are some pictures, in no particular order:
