I was doing some prep work on my insert ,cleaning the glass, oiling the blower, and I've discovered something.I was using 3 in one oil on my squirrel box blower and thought why not wipe some on the cast iron outside.I have some places that are starting to fade a bit,it's around six yrs old.The oil really brought back that shiny look.I then just wiped it off.Another person had mentioned something called stove black.Im probably a month or so away from weather that would justify using it.

That bad boy is gonna smoke like a dragon when you fire it up.
You probably oughta do it NOW while you can still open the windows...
