We installed an Osburn 2300 woodstove and I observed the side clearances ("12"s) on each side. My wife has been asking about putting up some cultured stone, but that would make the clearances about "9"s on the sides when built out. Can I put dura rock on the walls and than cultured stone and leave it at "9"s. Or is this still considered a combustible wall? I think using the dura rock makes it non combustible. What do you think?

Your clearance-to-combustibles (CtC) is specified to the compnents of the wall that can burn...sheetrock, wall studs, etc.
If you add non-combustibles to the combustibles, you are still maintaining the CtC...
