Installed new regency stove Nov. 2009. Had stove inspected and all was good. Burned all 2009/2010 winter with no issues at all. Very happy!! CO detectors went off in house this past Dec. Fire dept. came and levels were high. No smoke smell in house. Stove was working well. Went over everything and had fire dept. come back with detectors and check things when stove was working for a few hours. No readings at all.

Stove is in basement of a 6yr old house with a outside chimney through basement foundation. Double wall piping and double-wall insulated superflu stainless chimney. Never had draft problems, smoke problems. Was very happy with everthing until this incident.

looking for opinions. Would an air exchange unit help. This was mentioned?

Is everything else in the home electric? If the stove is the only thing "burning" then it HAS to be the problem. It could be a problem with the dryer or a bathroom vent or something? No "smoke smell" means nothing for CO, it is odorless and colorless.

If you have a second chimney flue on the roof of your house from a different heating system? If yes, it could be your stove exhaust back drafted down the other flue............
