Question:

A couple of years ago- we closed off the fireplace and hung a ventless infrared gas heater in front of it (Rinnai brand). Now- my husband is considering replacing this with a fireplace insert. A friend has a new Colony Hearth insert with blowers that is too large to fit into her fireplace. Can you give me any info on ratings and efficiency? Kim R.

Answer:

Colony Hearth was an older fireplace insert made by the folks at Earth Stove. A source for parts for these units might be found at Woodheatstoves.com, the link is below.
