As I continue the planning for my new insert, I contacted Travis about their new flush model. A couple of months ago, a dealer informed me that The FPX 33 aka Lopi Declaration aka Avalon Perfect Fit would be going to a single door model for the next season. He e-mailed me the dimensions page of the new manual. Here it is copy and pasted into a paint document with last year's model. Note that it is indeed a single door and the firebox is smaller. I'm glad I asked because I might need to buy last year's model now. A heads up for those of you in the same situation. The guy from Travis said there's about 140 left. After that, they're gone.

Wood heat...I hear ya. Although I like the simplicity of the single door model, I definitely prefer the larger firebox for longer burn times. My guess is they're downsizing it a bit to fit more applications in an effort to increase sales. Hopefully, I'll be able to get a discount on the discontinued model.
